Getting it (and you) Running - Configuring GPS
All you need to do for a start is setting up your GPS connection.
Basically there are three types of GPS devices that can be used with your PDA:
- USB connected GPS devices
- Bluetooth GPS devices
- internal GPS devices
Get it connected:
- Click on the cogwheel in the lower right corner
- Choose the "configure" option from the menu
- Select "managed GPS" or choose proper port and baud rate parameters for your GPS receiver
- Click "Save" - that's it
I guess number 3 is the hardest one ... It's always the best to use "managed GPS" if it is supported by your PDA. In this mode, you can connect several applications to your GPS. If you don't have "managed GPS" and don't know the parameters for COM port and baudrate, use the "detect" button which tries to automatically detect the values for your GPS device. Another way is to try some common baud rate and port values. Try to search the Internet for your device's parameters or have a look at the little table on this page: DocGPSConfigurationEN.
