Run.GPS Live Tracking
Run.GPS Live Tracking makes it possible for everyone to track your position on the web. This feature can be used
- for training monitoring (a trainer can follow his trainee on the screen)
- during competitions (follow the positions of all athletes using the system and see who's on top)
- for finding your friends
- as a security feature (for instance when going alone to the mountains people will know your last position in case of an emergency).
Important Notice: not only you or your trainer can follow your position - EVERYONE knows where you are and might use that information against you. Be careful using this feature.
There are two requirements for using Run.GPS Live Tracking:
- you must have an Internet connection (GPRS or UMTS)
- constantly using an Internet connection over your phone may be expensive, but
- this feature transmits only very little data (only the position and authentication information)
- you may choose a flatrate contract from your mobile network operator
- you can set the update frequency to a low value
- you must be signed up at http://www.gps-sport.net
(this service is free)
