Main Screens
!Training Shows all of your training data. |
The options you've got for the diagram
Often you'll want to split your training session into several laps.
Using maps is easy in Run.GPS: you can easily import them from Google Earth or other sources. There is no scanning of paper maps or calibration involved.
If you don't want to use a map image Run.GPS records all previous training sessions and puts them together using a feature called instant trail mapping. If you use your self-drawn map for navigation and have been in the area before - you will not get lost.
Options for configuring the map display
By double-clicking on your path or on any place on the map, you get detailed information: - position - speed (at this position) - altitude (at this position) - distance (from starting point) - training time You can - add the position as a waypoint - make Run.GPS navigate you to the selected position - activate the map image at this position (normally Run.GPS automatically activates the correct map image)
Run.GPS also allows you to navigate to a certain position (waypoint or position selected on the map).
Navigation
The orange arrow show the direction you should go. The white arrow is the compass needle.
If you don't want to constantly look at the screen, Run.GPS can talk to you on your earphone and tell you
- where to go (direction using the clock scheme - 12 means go straight ahead, 11 means go slightly left)
- the distance from your destination
- your current speed
- your average speed
- the elapsed training time
- the training distance so far
- the current altitude

Setting up
When you start the application, you must first give your licence key. Otherwise, you can use it for 14 days without registering.
To receive a free licence for the current beta version, write an email containing your ID to info@esymetric.de.
Next thing you would want to do is connect to your GPS. You can do this in the configuration dialog. If you don't know your GPS parameters, Run.GPS will try to detect your GPS when you push the detect button. This might take a minute or two.
If you succeeded connecting your device, you can see the satellites coming on the "GPS" screen (push the little satellite button for that).
GPS
With configuration now done, you can proceed to the "Recorder" screen. Here, you see the basic training parameters and you can start/stop or split your training (begin a new lap).
