Hi all,

just did an short test yesterday, to see if the "lock" is still there.
Nothing, but the next runs will show if its right ;)

On the picture you see the electrodes.
For this test i used the small electrodes for neonates.
The cheaper EKG electrodes have the same contact as the HxM,
therefore i need an cable to connect them both.
(I need to find an EKG cable with this "press knobs" like at the belt or the docking station from the HxM)

Its a really nice "free" feeling with this electrodes. No pressure around your body, no down sliding belt ...

Now one question about the cadence.
Is the cadence the sum of all axes? so i can put the HxM it in my pocket without any "right" direction?

If there are more questions, just ask me.

Regards
Rouven

good news

that's a good news but indeed we need to see if this hold in a long term.
what do you mean precisely with "electrodes for EKG" ? is "electrodes" some brand of gel ?

thanks

Today i made a nice test.
I tested the Hxm with electrodes for EKG use.

EDIT: the problem with the lock is still there
I will upload some photos for you later this day, or perhaps tonight.

Now i love the HxM again ;)

skin connection ?

Hi Rouven,

since you never experienced the problem before it could be really a problem with the skin connection in your case. Although I believe the belt was very wet when you did your test, but it would be worth trying with some kind of electrode gel to be sure. A long time ago I had the same type of issue with a polar accurex plus heratrate monitor and the gel solved the issue.

So you could indeed try the gel and let us know, if it cure the problem.

Hi gmngueko,

yes the HxM is 100% charged, i really wet the belt and the L is left of my heart.

i made a small test now.
http://www.gps-sport.net/home/Rouven/trainings201001/100106_133325_381605/training.html
The first 4 Peaks done by running (as you see in the cadence diagram)

Then i made push-ups at 16:57 you see that first the heartrate locks and then it goes to the real value.
Second and third seems fine.
At the fourth the same problem, first it locks and then it moves to the real value...

But also in running behind 1:53 there is the "lock" of the heartrate..but not that much.

What do you think?
It could be that it´s really just an problem with the contact to my skin?
But the strange thing is, i never got that problem before..

EDIT:
Done another test, now the belt was completely wet!
It always locks when i do some push-ups. (so it cant´t be the contact?)
http://www.gps-sport.net/home/Rouven/trainings201001/100106_144912_386152/training.html

Can you please test your belt with push-ups?
Many thanks in advance!

charged enough ?

indeed your case looks a bit strange, few questions:
1) do you make your belt really wet by putting some water before starting the run ?
2) is the HxM battery still charged enough ? don't trust the battery report too much as I saw that it's not linear, you should really count the number of hour you use the HxM as by experience it went from 50 % to zero very fast.
3) do you wear your HxM such that, the connector side of the HxM marked with 'L' (on the back of the HxM), is really on your left side (side of your heart) ?

Just checked my old HTC Kaiser against the new HD2.
Its the same bug in there!

But this is so strange...I really never got any problems and now in every log,
there are long duriations of many many seconds without any heartrate change.
Just an horizontal bar and then after a while it returns to the normal value.
Also the droping of the heartrate i never saw on my old training logs.

What is the problem with this?

So send an Email to zephyr-technology and ask if theres an update!?

same issue with kaiser and htc touch 3G

I was myself using the kaiser and then moved to the touch 3G, and I see the same problem with both, it's not related to the phone it's really something with the HxM device, I can confirm because I got the sdk kit and developped my own small application to display the HxM data, so I can see that it's really the data coming from the device which is wrong.

and I checkout my past data and actually even biking it happened but less frequently.
