Hi, well the thing is that the formula has been buggy before with the steps in it, so it's a real improvement to have it as it is now. I see that you're almost back to horse level (at least with personal activity level).

Drop from Horse to dog

Hi, since Christmas me (Runanco) and my brother (Bikebauke) are still about 1 point behind in the activity level.(And I am still sporting the same)
I was Horse and now dog.My brother was Deer and now Cat.
Is it possible to tweak the new formula a bit, so users have the former level back?
That would be nice, thx!

Yep, mine too :) A problem with access rights tonight when the automatic calculation of activity levels took place. Fixed it. Will check again tomorrow if the process ran correctly in this night.

Thank you for the fix. My personal activity level is back. But my official activity level became "shell" :)

Fixed the error!

It turned out that in the original version for the formula there was an integer division leading to the resulting function containing steps - which should not be the case. So the new formula is actually the correct one because the old one was a bit unpredictive.
But: to avoid activity level drops I've changed the new formula to take account of the integer steps and place the resulting activity level in the middle between lower and upper bounds. This is the part of the formula that makes old trainings count less compared to newer training activities.
To sum it up: The activity levels are now more or less the same as before the database migration and at the same time the formula is more consistent.
Thanks slekoshin!

The drop was from dog (about 9.80) to capricorn (about 8.88). There is no difference between personal and official activity levels.

I investigated this for myself because I also dropped from capricorn to deer :-)
But in my case it was my own mistake: I reinstalled the Run.GPS app and forgot to enter the correct weight - so the app calculated too little calories.
I checked the formulae and algorithms and it looks okay to me. The Top 100 https://www.gps-sport.net/top100ActivityLevels.jsp also looks pretty much the same as before. Will keep an eye on it.

Should not be the case but can't totally rule it out. The calculation has been changed because the queries have been moved from one SQL dialect to a completely different one, but the formula should still be the same.

Does this concern only your "personal activity level" or also the "offficial activity level"?
About how much do you think did it drop for you?

Personal activity level

Is the sudden change in personal activity level related to the database migration?

DB Migration finished
