I didn't checked the route twice but if you zoom in, especially into the wood part of the run the path is totally wrong, looks like if I am running zigzack all the time, so i think the real distance would be much shorter?!
is the a way to flatten the tracked paths? SOmething like average the location every 5 sec. ?
I have the same problem, using built in GPS or external Bluetooth GPS.
Yesterday I planned out a 15K route using the route planner. I made sure to be slightly over 15k, 15.18km according to the route planner. See plan here http://www.gps-sport.net/routes/15k_50327
When I came back from he run I found that the distance according to RunGPS was only 14.62km. See the Log here http://www.gps-sport.net/trainings/15k_277316.
This was really disappointing, though it have happen before so I should had known better......
What is most accurate, the route planner or RunGPS calculated distance?
When I record local runs, Run.GPS significantly under reports the distance, when compared to plotting the course out on gmap-pedometer or comparing to other runners (who are using Garmin watches, which seem to be verry accurate when compared to gmaps). My Run.GPS records about 5.87 to 6.0 miles on various occasions, compared to the "actual" distance of 6.88 miles over the same course.
Here is the course from Run.GPS recording: http://www.gps-sport.net/trainings/running_272577
And here is the same course plotted out: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=3450787
Do you have any reason, or suggestions?
I already faced this issue 2 times: My Run.GPS records wrongly altitude and distance.
As you can see in these 2 trainings, it seems to stop and restart later:
1- http://www.gps-sport.net/trainings/mountainbiking_240057
2- http://www.gps-sport.net/trainings/mountainbiking_264342
In training2- almost everything is wrong. strait lines, whereas I'm doing mountainbike
I'm using an HTC HD2.
After starting the training, I locked the application (with the yellow-lock button).
I just recved one call during my training and I did not even answered.
As you can see in previous trainings, it worked properly but some times... it goes wrong.
This is how I use it: I make sure the GPS ficx is OK. Then I start my training, then I use the yellow lock. I use the hw button to switch off the screen. I put my phone in my bag.
