Polar is really confusing people

Don't worry, it took me a while to figure it out as well... What really confused me was the fact that no one gave a statement about whether the Polar Wearlink Bluetooth HRM works with non Symbian phones. Someone had to give it a try ... :)
Also, at first I thought that the Nike+ version had both, Bluetooth and the Nike+ but I am pretty sure that this is not the case. They (Polar)are doing a good job in diversifying...

Thank you

Thank you for the information/confirmation. Honestly I felt foolish writing it as by the Polar titles themselves it seemed obvious there was only one bluetooth option, but I just wasn't confident in the other communication protocols (particularly the somewhat newer Nike+ version). I did see your earlier post and will go with the Polar blluetooth option. It seems like HR is one of the final measurements I'd like to capture (in one place) and now I'll be able to! Again. Thanks.

Choose carefully

Hi,
I am aware of only two bluetooth HRMs and I own both: the Zephyr HxM and (read carefully) the "Polar Wearlink Bluetooth HRM" which is only available from the mentioned SportsTracker shop. This is the only Polar HRM that sends out bluetooth signals (!). For whatever reason you can not buy it from Polar directly right now. They seem to have some deal with Nokia so they are not advertising it for other devices (e.g. Windows Mobile) and they try to make you believe it works with Symbian only. It works like a charm though on my Touch HD with Run.GPS.
From my experience (see my first post on that topic) I can only recommend the Polar over the Zephyr.

Polar Wearlink HRM compatibility

On the Polar USA website http://www.polarusa.com/en/products/accessories, there appear to be four Wearlink options -- can someone please advise if either the WearLink+ transmitter or the Polar WearLink+ transmitter Nike+ can work (since these can be purchased directly from Polar vs. the Polar WearLink+ transmitter with Bluetooth which from an earlier post in the forum appears to definitely work, but is only available from sports-tracker.com. I guess I also (primarily) mean, and forgive my newbie knowledge, would those other wearlink belts mentioned above transmit a bluetooth signal as well. I realize this post is very similar to the "Polar Wearlink Bluetooth HRM does work with Run.GPS!" and I'm happy to get the bluetooth version from sport-tracker -- I just wasn't sure if one of the other wearlink belts communicated via a bluetooth as well. Thanks.
