Another example...

Just another example: please see the attached image.

Don't get me wrong. I think cycling 738 km's in about one week is a great achievement(!) but I'm quite sure the amount of calories burned are incorrect due to recordings while being inactive,
Cycling 10 km/hour for about (added all up) 3 complete "active"days? If I try to cycle at that speed I'll probably fall of my bike. ;-) (no offence!). I think the active cycling speed must have been higher than that, so a lot of calories have probably been recorded while being inactive (assuming that this person has a HRM, but looking at the amount of calories burned that seems pretty likely).
If I extrapolate my calorie consumption to 738 km's I would have burned about 24000 kCal's in stead of almost 28000. Not to mention the difference in speed. (Note that my fitness trainings are not included in competition!)
As anyone can see when looking at my average active speed I do not record any "inactive time" and I would very much appreciate it if others did the same, beacuse this would make it more fair to everyone especially to those who do not have an HRM.
Maybe the software dev. team could fix this in a next release as stated before.

Thanks again!

Kind regards,

LeMarquis

Hi MKBiker59,

Thanks for your reply. I think it would indeed be a good idea to let the software manage these kind of things automaticcaly. After all, people want to see their activity level, not their resting level... ;-)
Like I said, don't take this personal I just used your training as an example and I'm glad to see you can relate to my point of view.

Greetings,

Hi,

tut mir leit.

Alhough the "Top 100 activity levels" and "Hall of fame" are just virtual competitions and these nothing to gain or loose I think it should be a fair competition nevertheless. So for those those who wear a HRM: it's not really fair to your fellow sportsmen and women when people do not stop recording they activity while taking a break (and I'm not talking about stops for trafficlights here).
Those who do not wear a HRM have a disadventage here because those who do will keep recording there calories even though they may sit in the sun for half an hour drinking a beer with some friends.

For example: when I compare MKBiker59's (nothing personal!) first 2 days of activity to those of Rallymiguel's activity then MKBiker59 (accorind to gps-sport) would have burned more calories by cycling 130 km calories then Rallymiguel by cycling 228 km! This seems very strange to me. One of the reasons is that almost 2 whole hours of resting have been recorded while wearing a HRM. This will probably make a difference of about 1400 kCal's. And even then calorie consumption would still be very high compared to that of Rallymiguel.
So please to those who wear a HRM: pause your recording while taking a (long) brake because an unfair competition is in fact no competition at all!

Thank you!
