I've done a couple of tests with this but the result is always the same: as soon as the position changes, Street View will automatically close. Updating a position in Street View seems not to be supported :-(

In previous versions of Google Maps it was possible to activate the Google Earth 3D plugin to show the Live Tracking position in real time. That was the ideal solution but also is not possible any more.
