Hi recneps

there's already a way to import KML from Google Earth or other sources but it's not very convenient. You can save those files to your harddisk, then convert them from KML to GPX using, for instance, Trackmaker, and then import the GPX files with the "import route from GPX file" function on the user homepage.

Later on, we'll provide direct import for data formats other than GPX.

Btw, it's also possible to get directions (street based routing) from Route Planner by using the "Insert points ... with routing" feature. You have to browse the start end destination address and click at both spots - the route in-between is figured out using Google Directions.

Happy Easter!

If I have already been somewhere and recorded a training session, I can create a route from the data once I have uploaded the training to GPS-Sport. That's cool.

If I have never been somewhere, the only option to create a route is via the Route Planner, which seems to be a good tool for doing this - especially for off-road excursions. A great time-saver would be to add the ability to IMPORT a .kml file into the Route Planner. That way, I can get directions via Google Earth then import it into the Route Planner, create my route, download it and off I go! Additionally, there are lots of placemarks available in the Google Earth community - how about being able to bring those into Run.GPS by importing?

Thanks again for all the hard work and a great program! I'll certainly do my part to recommend the software to others and increase US usage so I will have more routes to download and compete against :-)
