Tom

I have found the illusive directories and files!!!

There is an internal "Flash Drive" (non-removable) that I was unaware of and that is where all the information has been stored.

I now have maps!!!!! Hurray !!

Thank you for your perseverance and advice.

Regards
Frank

Hi Frank

that directory must exist somewhere because *everything* is stored there: placemarks, training recordings, the configuration, exports, reports, ... If it didn't exist at all, the application would not be able to start. Maybe your device has two memory/storage cards. Some devices declare a part of their built-in memory as storage card.

Try the following:
1) Main Menu > Reports
2) Calories Report
3) Anwer no (changing time range)
4) Now you can see the data directory in Internet Explorer address line

Cheers
Tom

Hello Tom

I decided to completely remove the programs (including Microsoft.NET) from the Desktop and Mobile computers and to reinstall them all again.
I can see the "Run.GPS Trainer UV" directory plus 6 files and a sub directory "resources" on My Device under "Program Files".
However in "My Documents" there is no directory for "Run.GPS" nor is there one in "My Documents" on the SD-Card.

What is the next step?
Cheers
Frank

Hi Frank

the directory must be named "map_images" (plural). Did you find "map_image" somewhere in the documentation or is it a typing mistake?

The location is "\My Documents\Run.GPS\" or "\SD-Card\My Documents\Run.GPS" (name of the SD card may vary).

The dir must look like in screenshot [1] and is created by Run.GPS.

Cheers

Tom

Hi Robert
I have renamed the .xml and .jpg files with all lowercase letters which is now the same as the Route name.
There are still no maps when I "list maps" or "find new maps". I have another map loaded in the Directory also which cannot be seen.

Was the install supposed to create the directory map_image in the Run.GPS directory as I had to do this myself.
I have already installed the program twice in case there was some problem the first time.

I was aware of the Window frame in the .jpg file but that is the least of my problems at the moment.

Cheers

Okay I have received the files and I see 2 problems:

- your files are named "Eagleonthehill.xml" and "EagleontheHill.jpg"
In the image file the "H" is upper case ... so Run.GPS thinks these don't belong together.
Maybe it's not possible to rename the file on the PDA (Windows is sometimes a bit strange), so you have to copy again from the PC. That is the reason why nothing has been displayed.

- your image still has the window frame
You should press F11 in Firefox to go to fullscreen mode or remove the frame afterwards using a painting program. If you leave the frame there, the map will not match your track.

Robert

Send the .xml and .jpg files of one map to info[at]rungps.net and I'll have a look what's wrong.

Cannot get maps to display!

Just evaluating the software, but cannot get any maps to be displayed on my ASUS Windows 5 PDA (A636).
I have created a Route map + Route and downloaded them using the download cart. I can see the route on my PDA but not the map.
I have also followed the instructions in the manual to download a map from Run.GPS and copied both the *.jpg and *.xml files to My Document/RunGPS/map_images directory in my PDA but alas the maps are not listed when I go to
"map settings-items on map-list maps or find new maps".
I have followed the manual section on "maps not displayed" and comply with all of the checklist.
I am at a loss as to the next step!
Any help would be appreciated.
