Thanks for checking into this for me. I was sure there was a problem somewhere and now know it's with the mapping services, not with Run.GPS.
Funnny, I've lived in the same house in Orland Park, IL for 10 years and I've never heard of Alpine. The area on the map you posted shows Alpine about a mile from my house and I assure you that it is part of Orland Park. Perhaps Alpine was the name of the area years ago and as the town of Orland Park expanded into the surrounding farmlands the maps were never updated. I checked mapquest.com and maps.live.com and both also show the area to be called Alpine. Nothing we can do then. At least it's near to my home and not another state or country!
Thanks.
Update Nov 8, 2008.
I just read a newspaper article explaining what Alpine is (was). It was a town at the map location shown below. The small town, which had two saloons, a general store with dance hall, and a train station, was destroyed by fire in 1912 and was never re-built. I'm surprised Google maps are almost 100 years out of date!
I'm new to Run.GPS and need a little help. All of my routes and training sessions list the location as "near Alpine (United States) and that is incorrect. I have no idea where this location came from and I'd like to correct it, but can't figure out how. Any help will be much appreciated.
Thanks
