Thanks for the advice which I will try before the format.
The only thing that makes me think that your suggestions wouldn't work is that I have been doing the same route for a while. Before the last update and for about the 1st 5 recordings after the last update all showed the same distance within a couple of 100ths of a mile. 5.35 miles.
Then suddenly it started giving the incorrect mileage. I recorded approx the next 6 times and these range from 5.9 mile to 11 mile.
Yes you can upload trainings in the non PRO version.
I don't think that formatting the device will help much. Maybe you could
- try to use a tool like QuickGPS to get a good GPS fix right from the start
- try putting the device to the ground in open space for some minutes before the training
I have not uploaded any trainings to GPS-Sport.net (can this be done in the non-pro version? ). I think that I misunderstood the original post.
My problem is a difference between a regular route and the results given by Run-GPS.
Google Earth calculated that route as 5.1mile.
Run GPS calculated it has 5.3. The difference can be explained by the inaccuracy of google Earth. This result was constant for weeks before the latest update to Run GPS and for about a week after the update.
The suddenly I got a Run-GPS result that was obviously wrong and since then all recordings have been wrong. I have results ranging from 5.8 mile and 11 mile for the same walk.
I am considering a format of the Pocket PC, unless you know of an easy fix.
@SlimboyFat: johncuyle stated that there was a difference between GPS-Sport.net and Run.GPS. Do you have that too? Can you please post some links of trainings uploaded to GPS-Sport.net?
I am using V2.2.6 build 1171 (Not the pro version).
It seemed to be fine after the update for about a week with very similar results for distance then suddenly I start getting incorrect distances. This has always been a result higher than the known correct distance. The error varies between 5% and 50% but since it started this error it has not given a correct recording. Any ideas.
I walk the same route home every day and I have been recording it. Yesterday something very strange happened. I see the same route drawn on the map in Run.GPS and here on GPS-Sport but the distance travelled, typically 1.4 miles, is showing up only as .8 miles. My average speed is calculated to be conisistent with the sorter distance as well. I'm not sure how this happened exactly. I'll try to dupicate it when I come home but you might want to consider adding some sort of route verification to the upload process.
