Krille, that is very nice.
It would be fantastic if the run.gps dev team picked this up and incorporated it in to the portal. The return in sales for run.gps due to the exposure would justify it alone.

But this thread is over 2 years old and it hasn't happened yet...

Although the best thing would be if you could trigger the Facebook post from the phone when you're syncing your training.

genauso/thatsit

das miniapp ist wunderbar, jetzt noch ein paar Optionen, damit nicht jeder die Seite aufsuchen muss (in der privacy) und fertig.
just fine, add some checkboxes in the privacy area and publish :-)

Well, my miniapp is ready, it´s just the "interface" that needs to be created on your Run.GPS workout page.
The page I created to try it out (http://leuhusen.net/facebook/rungps.html) has everything already done. The only thing needed for a first version, it that the admins take the code of the page, but instead of filling the forms manually the system does this for you. So just check (and change if wanted) the values and click publish.
I recon it is a 5-10 minutes work to get it done.
Just take the values from the system and put in the textboxes.
Small effort, big value.

@Krille: The admin team have already posted their support for the app as follows:
http://www.gps-sport.net/forums/thread/684-20/Facebook-application

Is this enough to get the mini-app live??! :-)

Quoting admin:

s there anybody who knows a bit about Facebook plugins and JSP programming?

It's no problem to get the data out of the system.

Let's create a page named www.gps-sport.net/facebookPlugin.jsp?userName=admin

You'll have all the parameters you need:

double lat;
double lng;
double distanceM;
int durationSec;
String sport;

And you'll be able to put those in the page using the well-known syntax <%=sport%> and so on.

If anybody is interested in doing this, I'll provide the "raw" JSP page for it.

A simple search for the word facebook on Search Forums comes up with the following thread where someone has developed the framework for a good facebook application!
http://www.gps-sport.net/forums/thread/684-10/Facebook-application

The developers just need to take this on board to link to the www.gps-sport.net server! :-)
wodge80 18.02.2011 23:42:24 UTC

This is exactly what I think most people are asking for! Why don't the Run.GPS develeopers take this on board and use a version of this for their servers??!!
runnersfreund 12.02.2011 12:16:08 UTC
