I think you can avoid this by setting a home location. This will open the map on the start page in the correct spot and will also open Route Planner in this spot. Clicking a location on a training detail page just searches by name ... so it may be ambiguous.

I have a similar problem with my location being wrong. Just today I found part of the reason. Long ago there was a nearby town with the location name RunGPS thinks I'm at. The town is gone, but the name remains on the map. See my old post for an explanation.

gary_lee,
It's good to see another US user joining - more specifically in the same city as myself (Marietta, GA). Run.GPS is a great program and continues to get better...sounds like bluetooth heartrate monitoring is not far off either ;-)
Our place names database still has some errors or old names in it. We will switch to a newer place database in the next months. The place search from Run.GPS already accesses the Geonames.org database, which is better.
When I attempt to setup my home location on the web site, I can go to the correct location on the US map, (ie: 33.937023 -84.597151) it tells me this is near Arbor Park United States. I have no clue where Arbor Park is, but it is not anywhere around the Kennesaw Mountain / Marietta GA area I am pointing to on the map.
Any ideas? Sorry if this has already been answered here. I did a quick search and could not find an answer.
