Right. Monitoring speed changes is not fast enough for such short intervals because the GPS doesn't handle those changes fast enough (at low speeds). Which also means that introducing an "interval avg speed" would not make it more accurate because the GPS simply needs some time to adapt :-(
Thanks for the reply.
Just to clarify on points 3 and 4.
I didn't actually mean "10 km/h" instead of "9 - 11 km/h" I think this is fine as it is.
Instead I meant is there a way of displaying the actual average speed achieved over a particular interval. The reason I ask for this is because over short intervals eg. 1 minute I find it is quite hard to monitor my target speed. The "too fast" "too slow" voice warnings seem to be taking into account the speed from the previous recovery interval.
My idea is that it would work in a similar way to the avg lap speed display.
1. Sorry but this is not possible for technical reasons ... (doesn't match our data structures)
2. Okay we'll add 10 second increments for time (100 meters we think is okay for most people)
3. You mean show "10 km/h" instead of "9 - 11 km/h"?
4. We'll add a master switch to enable/disable interval training more easily
I have been regularly using the interval training since you introduced it earlier this year and find it very useful indeed. However this would be much improved if it were possible to do to the following:
1. Use alternating time and distance mode within individual sessions. For example this would enable one to set up a session consisting of 6 reps of 500 metres followed by 8 min recoveries.
2. More precision for the distance/time setting. Increments of 0.01km or 10 metres and 10 seconds for the time would be good.
3. Within the display an option showing the Avg Speed for the current interval would also be very useful.
