It works now!

Thanks to a hint from a friendly forum member I got it to work finally (i.e. upload with WLAN and Active Synch). He pointed me to following link:
http://www.ppc-welt.info/community/showthread.php?p=1170610#post1170610
The problem seemed to be connected with the Vodafone branding of my Xperia X1 (which even survived the installation of a new image..).
take care, Volker

Ok think I've figured it out. Your user id has the first letter capitolised even if you entered it lower case. Not the same probelm as below.

New user connection issue. Same as below???

Hi, sounds like I have a similar issue. I've registerd here (obviously) and have created a test route. I have added this to my download cart. When I try and download on my HTC Touch HD I get an authentification error. So... I go and enter my sign in details in the user config utility. This still produces an error. Just to check, I sign out of Run.GPS on my laptop and try and sign in again. I get a login failed message. I try the reset password option and get an email back with the correct password I'm typing on the laptop and HTC. If I follow the registration link I was sent is the email, I can get siged in fine on my laptop. Maybe the same issue as below? Net result is not able to download.

Connection Problems

Dear admin,
one additional comment to the connection problems discussion. You wrote:
"It simply requests any kind of available Internet connection from the operating system".
In my case it looks like, that Run.GPS does not recognize that the Internet connection via WLAN or Active Sync already exists. I verified that these connections exist, I can use them via Explorer/Opera (even for the run.gps built in check of new software versions) but as soon as I start the upload to the portal, my phone opens a new mobile connection to connect to the Internet - ignoring that an alternative connection is already available. Is there any Windows 6.1 configuration I am missing (and obviously I don't seem to be alone with this problem)?

thanks in advance for any comments, Volker

answer to admin

My first version was

> The Run.GPS ID you provided is: HU4F-PHBB-4S8F

with that version I could export in gpx and KLM

Now I have updated my soft ( several months ago ) and can't anymore

I don't no why .

We often have users reporting upload problems. Run.GPS does not distinguish between connections via WLAN, ActiveSync or GPRS. It simply requests any kind of available Internet connection from the operating system. Resetting the device may sometimes help.

Why did you state that you cannot use GPX and KML output? This feature is available in the Trainer UV Pro version as it has always been.

not happy

I am not happy at all with this new version ( and his problems of getting my trainings out of the GPS )
In the earlier vesion I had the choice of export between gpx, kml or gps-sport.net
Now I can do NOTHING ......

Also for my some puzzles remain

Hi Frans,
I also had the situation that I was connected to the Internet but still got the Authentification failed message. The connection works for me now, but only via the mobile network, not via WLAN or ActiveSync. When I find a fix for this, I will post it here.

take care, Volker

upload a training from smartphone to gps-sport.net

when i try to upload a training recording i always get the message :
" Authentification failed. Please register at GPS-Sport.net .... and enter a correct username /password."

And this while i am logged in .

Why ?

Got it to work. Update to most recent telefone software (flash image) helped!

Hi everybody,
i finally solved my problems by updating my telefone software (flash image) to the most recent version (February 2009). Either I had some conflicts with other programs installed on my phone, or there was something wrong with my image from the beginning.

take care, Volker
