Oh Yes!!!!! I have Windows Mobile 2003

Hi Tom,

I am very pleased that you found a solution for the 2003 users. I have installed it and it is running well. It looks very good to me…the display is also OK…..OK maybe it is better on a 2005 or 2006 device but if you didn’t mention the differences I would not have noticed.

Thanks for your great support!!!!!

Since a great lot of people seem to be still using the Windows Mobile 2003 operating system on their PDAs, we have decided to make the Run.GPS UV version available to those.

Because this operating system does not support alpha channel transparency, we had to replace this by simple color key transparency. This means that on WM2003 the graphics will be a bit grainy while on WM5 or WM6 it is really beautiful. But besides that, there are no other limitations on WM2003.

See http://www.rungps.net/Wiki.jsp?page=Transparency for a comparison of the two transparency modes.

You can download the WM2003 enabled version from http://www.rungps.net/Wiki.jsp?page=DownloadsEN.

Windows Mobile 2003

This is a sad story. It's not that we don't support WM2003 because we're too lazy to do so. Okay yes we are lazy but not that lazy.

Actually we didn't want to bother you with the technical details but if you demand a proper explanation you'll of course get one. Here it is: the core.dll of WM2003 does not support alpha channels.

What the f*** does that mean? It means that transparency is not supported. Run.GPS UV uses transparency throughout the GUI and maps. Without alpha channel transparency, it can technically be run, but looks terrible. You can try it out if you want. So, that's the reason why the UV is not and will not be available for WM2003.

But the 1.2.8 will still be maintained and there will be further updates! The UV version is a parallel branch and does not replace the 1.2 branch.

Btw, for many WM2003 devices there's a free WM5 upgrade available.

Regards

Still support for Windows Mobile 2003

In another thread : http://www.gps-sport.net/faces/forums/index.jsp?thread=92&offset=0 you can read that 1.2.8 for Windows Mobile 2003 will be supported.
I guess we are lucky, but for how long?

Dem schließe ich mich an

Ich habe habe Run.GPS Trainer gerade erst gekauft und schon wird Windows Mobile 2003 nicht mehr unterstützt? Das kann's doch wohl nicht sein!

Run.GPS Trainer UV in combination with Windows Mobile 2003.

As reported in the lates newsletter does the new Run.GPS trainer UV only work with Windows mobile 2005 or 2006. I have a Qtek S100 with Windows Mobile 2003…….does this mean that I can not benefit at all from all these new improvements?!?!

Please tell me that there is a solution!!!
